Biteary
Email us. Biteary is made by a small team, and every message is read by a person — not a bot and not a ticket queue.
We reply to general questions within two business days. Reports about content or behaviour are read and acted on within 24 hours — if something is wrong, say so and it gets looked at the same day.
If you see a post or a person that breaks the rules, you do not need to email us first — you can act immediately from inside the app.
Content that breaks the rules is removed, and accounts are removed where the breach is serious. Our house rules are in the app under Community rules: post your own food, no harassment or hate, nothing unsafe for a 16+ audience, respect other people's privacy, and no spam or impersonation.
If you reported something and nothing seems to have happened, email us and reference what you reported. We would rather hear twice than miss it.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What do I need to run it? | An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, and an iCloud account. Biteary uses Sign in with Apple, so there is no password to create or remember. |
| Where does it work? | Anywhere in Canada and the United States. Restaurant search uses Apple Maps and looks around wherever you actually are, so it works the same in Vancouver, Toronto, Chicago or Honolulu. |
| Is my diary private? | Yes, by default. A memory is private unless you choose to share it. Private memories live in your own iCloud account and we cannot read them. |
| Why can't I find my friend? | Search by their exact username. If their account is private, following them sends a request they have to approve — you'll appear in their notifications. |
| My feed isn't updating. | Pull down on the feed to refresh. If it still looks stale, check that you're signed into iCloud in Settings, since Biteary syncs through your iCloud account. |
| Someone tagged me. Do I have to appear? | No. Tags are a request. You choose whether to accept, and nothing shows on your profile until you do. |
| How do I change my username? | Edit it on your profile. Your posts, followers, map and history all stay with you — the username is only a label. Your old username is released for anyone else to take. |
| How do I delete my account? | Open your profile, tap the ••• menu, choose Account, then Delete account. This removes your posts, photos, profile and history. It cannot be undone. |
| Does it cost anything? | No. Biteary is free, with no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads. |
Biteary does not track you. There is no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party companies involved — your data goes to your own iCloud account and nowhere else. We never store your location: the app reads it on your device to find nearby restaurants, then forgets it.
